Portable Power Stations are high-capacity battery packs in a compact and travel-friendly design. Also known as "solar generators" when paired with solar panels. These devices come with a rechargeable battery that can power a variety of devices, including Road Toad Trailers.

Runtime between charges varies depending on the capacity you choose. Common brands are Jackery, Goal Zero, EcoFlow, Bluetti, and many more. Read reviews carefully as quality can vary dramatically between brands.

Deluxe Electrical -VS- Power Station
DELUXE ELECTRICAL OPTION POWER STATION

  • Less expensive than comparable (800 Wh) power station.
  • Different power levels available to fit your needs.
  • Fully wired and set-up, ready to go.
  • Must be connected to the trailer to use fan, outlets, and internal trailer lights.
  • May be charged off solar panel or shore power.
  • May be charged off solar panel or shore power.
  • AC power only when plugged into shore power.
  • Can have AC power when camping "Off-Grid."
  • Can be used as emergency power at home.
  • Can't forget to bring it with you.
  • Can be used separate from the camper.
  • Takes at least 24 hours for a full recharge.

  • Must be fully recharged before storing for more than a couple days, or the battery will be damaged.
  • Can be stored for extended periods, with a partial charge, without damaging battery.

  • Battery is less expensive to replace.
  • Battery cannot be replaced. Power station must be replaced.
  • If you don't have power in your storage area, you should take battery out and put on a charge tender at home.
  • If you don't have power in your storage area, you would need to take power station out and plug in at home to recharge.
  • Heavy Lead battery.
  • Lighter Weight.
  • Cannot power an Air Conditioner.
  • A 5000 Wh Portable Power Station would be needed to run a small 5000 btu A/C for 8 hours.
